(video) Julian Bond: “Gay Marriage is a civil right”

Mr. Julian Bond delivers stirring, humorous, poignant, logical and inclusive speech at the Human Rights Campaign Gala.

Mr. Bond, chairman of the NAACP, explains how gay marriage is a civil right.

It’s 20+ minutes long but we believe that the history and relevance would succinctly and intelligently defend his position as a gay marriage supporter and why the NAACP demonstrated “up and down the state of California against Proposition 8″.

He really hits his stride hardest at about 18 minutes in.

We were surprised by his compassion, clarity and rationality. We watched it to the end.
